Liam Payne’s poignant last desire has come to light following his shocking passing, as his family have spoken out about his death.
The former One Direction member left fans worldwide in mourning after his fall from a hotel suite on the third floor in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the age of 31.
As tributes pour in, details about Liam’s final moments have started to surface, including his emotional parting wish. A conversation with a fan reveals that Liam expressed his adoration for Buenos Aires, mentioning his hope to purchase property there just over an hour before he met his untimely end.
Diana Gauna, a fan, recounted her cherished encounter with the pop star at around 3pm last Wednesday. She had been waiting with friends to spot him when they saw each other in the lobby of his downtown boutique hotel.

An emotional ‘Directioner’, Diana, couldn’t hold back her tears as she described their last exchange on the Argentinian programme TN Central: “Liam looked in good shape, not drunk or aggressive like they’ve been saying on social media.
“He approached us and spent quite a bit of time talking to us and telling us about his experiences in Buenos Aires, the places he’d been to and where he wanted to go. He said he loved the city and would like to buy a home here, that he loved the countryside around Buenos Aires.”
She went on to say, “Liam also told us during the conversation that he’d been to the countryside with his girlfriend, that on Sunday morning about 7am they’d gone out running together. He told us he was really enjoying Buenos Aires.”
Diana revealed that while still at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, she noticed “began to see strange movements and a police patrol car and fire engine turned up”. She expressed her disbelief upon discovering that the father-of-one had been found dead, remarking: “I never thought it was Liam because I had seen him just over an hour earlier and he seemed okay.”
Overcome with emotion as she reflected on the distressing discovery, she added: “Finding out someone is dead that you’ve just seen was really shocking. He was my idol. Liam spoke a lot about mental health and in his songs told us we are never alone. This is all very hard. As fans we are in a lot of pain.”
Prosecutors announced last week that they have yet to uncover any evidence of foul play in the circumstances leading to Liam’s demise, but indicated that their inquiry is ongoing.
Argentinian media reports claim Liam had cocaine residue within his system, according to forensic authorities who performed an autopsy after his death last Wednesday. The online news platform Infobae reported that substances retrieved during the singer’s post-mortem “determined the presence of the class-A drug.”
As reported by ABC News, the drugs found include “pink cocaine,” known to be a concoction of various narcotics such as MDMA, ketamine, methamphetamine, cocaine, benzodiazepine, and crack.
Liam’s devastated father, Geoff, who jetted off to Argentina just hours following his son’s demise, has pledged to stay with him until he can return to the UK. The chief investigator into Liam’s death, Prosecutor Andres Esteban Madrea, has cautioned Geoff that it might be a ten-day wait until the post-mortem results are verified and he cannot repatriate Liam to the UK prior to this.
