Dwayne Johnson has made an interesting new career move branching out into an unexpected avenue.
The Hollywood star is already known for his work in the fields of movies, professional wrestling, and even tequila – but now he’s heading into the skin care world. Dwayne, 51, has launched his own range of men’s beauty products called Papatui with the collection already released on his website, Papatui.com, and being stocked in Target stores across the USA from March 10.
Dwayne took to Instagram to launch the line as he discussed the stigma surrounding skincare for men. He captioned the post: “Welcome to the world of my @papatui_ men’s care. As you guys know, I’m an advocate for wellness, grooming and men taking better care of ourselves. And while we may not always talk about it, us guys all want to look better and feel better too.”
He gave away more information about the work he had put in to creating the brand adding: “At Papatui, I’ve worked directly with best-in-class scientists & experts to make sure all our products are high quality, effective and affordable for everyone. Most importantly, I wanted to deliver a line of products that you can trust – so you can look, feel, and smell amazing.”
He concluded: “I invite you all to #TakeBetterCare with PAPATUI, officially AVAILABLE NOW on Papatui.com and exclusively sold in every TARGET store across the country starting this Sunday, March 10th.” Dwayne also admitted feeling “hyped” to finally launch his range after “years in development and years of testing this product with hundreds and hundreds of guys.”
The Moana star also admitted that he has often been approached over the years to ask what he uses to care for his own skin as he encouraged other men to join the conversation about their appearance without fear. He said: “Now, over the years, you and I have had a lot of conversations, a lot of dialogue, a lot of Q&A’s as we have talked about our workouts, our cheat meals, our businesses, our ambitions, our why, our relationships, our tequila, but what you may not know is I have so many of you guys quietly what I use on my skin, what is my routine.”
He added he has always had “dudes pulling me aside and asking me, ‘Hey Rock, can I talk to you for a second?’ And they’re kind of looking around, ‘What do you use on your skin?’ I’m like, ‘Dude, why are you whispering?’ Let’s have this conversation out in the open.”
He also admitted wanting his products to be “hard-working, efficacious, high quality, and, at the end of the day, it was important for me to deliver to you guys formulations that were premium, and, just as important, accessible price points between eight and 10 bucks.”
