Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is officially set to compete inside a WWE ring for the first time since 2016!
Johnson has become an integral figure on WWE SmackDown over the last few weeks after becoming embroiled in a feud involving Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, and Cody Rhodes.
Last week, the Hollywood star proposed a huge match-up for the first night of WrestleMania XL: A tag team match that would see Rollins and Rhodes pitted against himself and Reigns, in what would be The Rock’s first WWE match since defeating Erick Rowan at WrestleMania 32 eight years ago.
During last night’s edition of SmackDown, Rollins accepted the challenge on behalf of himself and Rhodes but not without getting a dig it at Johnson – calling him “Mr. Mid-Life Crisis.” That wasn’t the end of the heated war of words, however.
In response, Johnson turned his attention to Rhodes’ family, berating The American Nightmare for the twenty-year age gap between himself and his siblings. Johnson went on to claim that this was because Rhodes was “a mistake” which led Rhodes to slap Johnson, with the show going off the air before tempers flared any further.
The Rock Pitched For Specific WWE Hall Of Fame Inductee
Yesterday, it was reported that Dwayne Johnson has significant influence over the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024, which is set to include Paul Heyman, Bull Nakano, and The U.S. Express’ Mike Rotunda and Barry Windham so far.
It was also noted that Johnson has pitched for his grandmother, Lia Maivia, to be inducted as part of the Class of 2024, though there is currently no word on if she is planned to be inducted at the time of writing.
